Role Overview

Reporting to the Technical Supervisor the Watch repair Technician level 2 will be responsible for dismantling, testing, disassembly, partial assembly, encasing, quality control, diagnosis of basic calibres, gluing and some clock repairs. The position requires a high level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts and provide a best-in class quality while maintaining our standards.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Organization of their area in the Workshop:

  • Follow RNA standards and Brands’ specifications
  • Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Technical procedure
    • Work assignments and workflow
    • Standards of Quality & Standard Time of Operations (STOs)
  • Maintain a cleaned, organized and safe working area

Dismanteling:

  • Dismantle the timepieces and insert all parts dismantled into the repair box:
    • Remove the strap or the bracelet
    • Separate movement from the case
    • Dismantle the case components to brand specifications
  • Ensure that the repair labels are correctly placed on the repair boxes
  • Transfer the repair to proper department

Disassembling of Movement:

  • Remove hands and dials from movement
  • Disassembling of movement watch components according to brand(s) specifications
  • Placement of components in cleaning trays prior to cleaning process
  • Operate movement cleaning machine
  • Partially assembling of movement according to the brand expectation and the assembling line station

Case Prep:

  • Install and assemble the watches case components in preparation of the encasing of the movement including gluing the crystal if needed Check and ensure water-resistance of the case.

Encasing:

  • Test the movement, install the dial and the hands prior to encase the movement and close the watch
  • Perform a first quality control to ensure that the piece is in working order

Clock Repairs:

  • Movement replacement or disassembling, cleaning, adjustment and encasing of clock from different brands.

Technical QC:

  • Visually and functionally inspect the timepieces according to RCS, RA and Brand standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GDE
  • Technical experience in the watch industry preferred
  • Luxury industry experience is a plus
  • High level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts, with a strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of Mechanical Applications is a plus
  • Ability to follow instructions and efficiently provide a high level of quality
  • Ability to work using magnification equipment.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Computer skills are a plus
