Role Overview
Reporting to the Regional Strategic Sourcing AVP, the Senior Procurement Excellence Manager drives performance, governance, and continuous improvement for procurement and sourcing across Richemont Americas. This role partners with HQ leadership to establish strategic direction and optimize operational standards.
The role will:
Build sustainable systems, disciplines, and capabilities for high-performing procurement and sourcing outcomes.
Implement robust governance and maximize value from procurement and sourcing tools and data.
Ensure transparency for rigorous accountability.
Strengthen the Americas' procurement and sourcing foundation, aligning with policy, best practices, and sustainability ambitions.
Collaborate with Richemont HQ to effectively implement global sourcing strategies tailored for the Americas region.
The ideal candidate combines analytical precision with strong organizational influence to embed lasting behavioral change within complex, matrixed environments.
Responsibilities
Process Discipline & Governance:
Design, document, and continuously improve standard procurement processes, policies, and controls across the Americas — building governance that is rigorous without becoming bureaucratic
Drive adoption and reduce policy exceptions through structured change management; partner with Legal, Compliance, and Finance to close governance gaps and reduce procurement-related risk
Maintain a living operating model — SOPs, approval workflows, and escalation protocols that evolve as the business evolves
Lead and develop a small team of procurement operations professionals for purchase order and vendor management; cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and analytical rigor
Systems, Data & Savings Enablement:
Champion the optimization and performance of Ariba SLP and Ariba Buyer across the region; design workflows, templates, and approval structures that reduce friction and improve compliance
Build and own dashboards, savings trackers, and KPI reporting that give leadership real-time visibility into procurement performance — and the credibility to act on it
Surface savings opportunities through spend analysis, process discipline, and maverick spend reduction; track realization through to finance validation
Apply AI-assisted analytics and intelligent workflow tools as an enabled user — improving reporting accuracy, process efficiency, and the quality of supplier data without owning the underlying technology roadmap
Training & Capability Building:
Design and deliver structured procurement training programs that build functional capability across the buyer community, covering sourcing fundamentals, P2P processes, policy compliance, and systems proficiency
Own the onboarding experience for new procurement team members, ensuring role-specific technical and process knowledge is embedded within the first 30 days
Partner with the HQ and AVP of Strategic Sourcing to identify skill gaps across the regional team and develop targeted learning pathways aligned to strategic priorities
Drive technology enablement and adoption by translating system capability into practical user guidance, reducing dependence on tribal knowledge and ensuring Ariba and adjacent tools are used to their full potential across the region
KPI, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Build and maintain a suite of procurement KPIs and executive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into savings delivery, compliance rates, cycle times, and supplier performance; enabling leadership to make decisions from data
Establish a regular reporting cadence, weekly operational pulse, monthly scorecards, and quarterly business reviews, ensuring procurement performance is consistently visible and accountable
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing and P2P processes, systematically identifying friction points, eliminating non-value-added steps, and embedding Lean or equivalent improvement discipline into the team’s operating rhythm
Monitor P2P process metrics including PO coverage, invoice payment rates, approval cycle times, and exception volumes, and drive structured remediation where performance falls below standard
Stakeholder & Organization Impact
Serve as the definitive internal authority on procurement process questions, escalations, and improvement priorities across the Americas
Prepare and present procurement operations performance, savings pipeline, and compliance reporting for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders; communicate operational complexity in clean, credible terms
Partner with the strategic sourcing team to ensure that sourcing outcomes are captured, tracked, and translated into measurable, finance-validated business value
Design and deliver change management and capability-building programs that embed new tools, processes, and behaviors permanently across the procurement user base
Contribute materially to procurement's longer-term evolution into a data-driven, strategic business partner
Qualifications
Requirements:
7+ years of progressive procurement, procurement operations, or sourcing excellence experience in a complex, matrixed organization
Demonstrated track record of process improvement initiatives that reduced cycle time, improved compliance, or generated measurable, finance-validated cost savings
Prior people leadership with a record of developing and elevating early-career procurement professionals
Hands-on experience supporting or leading procurement system implementations — Ariba SLP and / or Ariba Buyer strongly preferred
Meaningful exposure to highly regulated industries or those with stringent compliance requirements, such as luxury retail, financial services, or similar sectors with complex procurement policy obligations.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and digital tools to improve procurement execution, automate routine activities, enhance reporting, insights, and stakeholder support.
Key Experiences & Competencies:
Ability to design, document, and enforce procurement workflows with precision without bureaucratic drag
Mastery of working with spend data, building executive-grade dashboards, and translating data into operational decisions/execution to deliver optimized completion times and/or savings
Skilled working with Ariba SLP (supplier lifecycle management) and Ariba Buyer (requisition-to-order)
Proficient with AI-powered tools for spend analytics, reporting automation, and process improvement
Capable to drives sustained behavior change across business in a collaborative manner
CPSM, CPPO, Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or above), or equivalent process improvement certification
Experience operating across multi-country Americas environments — US, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil
Familiarity with ERP environments beyond Ariba — SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion, or equivalent
Travel:
Richemont is based in Manhattan with offices in Midtown East. Some team members are based in other locations, and occasional travel may be required to Shelton, CT; Dallas, TX; Mississauga, ON, or to suppliers’ locations. Occasional travel to Switzerland may be necessary.
