ROLE PURPOSE
The Government Affairs Sr Manager, CH, US will support the execution of the Group’s global government affairs strategy, with responsibility for driving impact and building influence in priority international markets.
The role is accountable for government affairs engagement in Switzerland and the United States, aligned with business priorities and in coordination with the other Group Government Affairs team members. The engagement will evolve over time to include international markets outside the EU.
Fully integrated within Group Corporate Affairs and working in close alignment with Group Central Functions, Group Regions, and Maisons, the position will ensure consistent, high-impact engagement with policymakers and stakeholders in support of the Group’s and its Maisons’ business priorities and long-term reputation.
The Government Affairs Sr Manager, CH, US will report to the Group Government Affairs and Industry Relations Director and will be part of the Group Government Affairs team.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
Strategy Execution & Market Prioritisation
- Lead the implementation of the Group’s global government affairs strategy across international markets, with clear prioritisation of key geographies.
- Translate global policy priorities (e.g. ESG, trade, data, tax, product regulation) into targeted, market-specific engagement plans.
- Lead execution in assigned priority markets, ensuring strict alignment with Group positions and messaging.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
- Lead the Group’s government affairs activities in Switzerland and the United States, developing and executing tailored engagement strategies.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with policymakers, regulators, and key stakeholders.
- Support senior leadership engagement with government stakeholders, particularly in Switzerland, given its role as the Group’s headquarters location and a key strategic stakeholder environment.
- Ensure coordinated and consistent engagement across Maisons.
- Position the Group as a trusted and credible partner in policy discussions impacting the luxury sector.
- Develop and execute annual stakeholder engagement plans with clear objectives, milestones and measurable outcomes aligned with Group priorities.
Policy Monitoring & Advocacy
- Monitor and assess relevant policy, legislative and regulatory developments across assigned markets.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies in priority international markets.
- Monitor and assess geopolitical, trade and economic policy developments impacting the Group's international operations and support advocacy strategies to protect market access and business continuity
- Ensure alignment with Group positions before external engagement.
- Coordinate with trade associations and external partners’ advocacy strategies in line with the Group Government Affairs strategy and Maisons needs.
- Represent the Group within relevant trade associations and industry platforms in selected markets, ensuring alignment with Group priorities and maximizing responsible influence through collective advocacy, collaborating with committee representatives to bring additional expertise when relevant.
Internal Coordination and Integration
- Work closely with Group Central Functions, including Legal, Sustainability, Communications, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, relevant Maisons, and Group Government Affairs Senior Manager, Europe to align on policy priorities and engagement plans.
- Ensure consistency of messaging and positioning across markets.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on political and regulatory developments.
- Contribute to building a cohesive government affairs operating model, building a coordinated and effective approach across the Group.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics, or Social Sciences, Master’s degree a plus.
- 10-15 years’ experience in government affairs, public policy, or related fields.
- Background spanning corporate, public sector, or consultancy environments.
- Strong expertise across government relations/public affairs and communications disciplines, including crisis/issues communications.
- Experience in consumer-facing industries or regulated industries is an advantage.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and power dynamics.
- Strong business acumen.
