Position Summary

The Retail Merchandiser for Korea is responsible for driving retail performance across the Korean market by managing assortment, buying activities, and in-season optimization for four retail stores. This role leverages Anaplan for assortment & distribution, ensuring alignment with global merchandising strategy while adapting to local market needs.



Key Responsibilities

1. Merchandising Planning & Anaplan Management

  • Build and maintain seasonal assortment plans using Anaplan

  • Oversee Korea Open-to-Buy (OTB)

  • Lead overall strategic buying direction considering seasonal trend, performance and brand consistency; collaborate with global merchandising teams to align

  • Monitor performance versus plan and identify risks and opportunities

  • New launch merchandise and new store open preparations; plan delivery timeline, coordinate with VM and Retail teams, and manage HQ communication for smooth launch.


2. Buying & Assortment Management

  • Execute buying for four retail stores in Korea

  • Define store-level assortments based on client needs and store performance

  • VIC (special) order management

  • Ensure optimal product mix across categories (RTW, accessories, etc.)

  • Participate in seasonal buying sessions with global teams

  • Adjust buys based on market feedback and sales trends

  • Communicate with stores to collect feedback for new collections

  • Analyze sell-through data by category and door, prepare performance summaries

3. In-Season Management

  • Provide weekly and monthly sales analysis and recommendations

  • Monitor sell-through, product performance and management stock levels

  • Identify best-sellers and slow movers and propose actions

  • Manage and implement pricing and price change adjustment

  • Manage stock allocation and optimize replenishment across stores

  • Plan and manage for Sale, FFS, Staff sale; prepare sale list, execution and summarize performance

  • Season map book creation

  • Old stock management; plan and proceed return process based on the HQ approval. Analyze EOS performance and summarize

  • Shipment control; monitor and communicate for regular shipment status, handle delivery issues

4. Retail Performance & Store Partnership

  • Partner closely with store managers to understand local needs

  • Provide product training, VM traning and merchandising guidance when needed

  • Support store teams with product knowledge and storytelling

  • Ensure alignment between merchandising strategy and retail execution

5. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare weekly KPI tracking (sales, sell-through, stock, WOS)

  • Deliver insights on business drivers and client demand

  • Analyze market trends and competitor landscape

  • Prepare business review

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Central Merch, and VM teams

  • Coordinate with logistics for product deliveries and transfers

  • Partner with finance on budget follow-up and performance tracking

  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure relevant planning and event execution

  • Wholesale overview – management on strategic order handling, pricing and delivery etc.


Profile

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Anaplan (SAP) would be a plus

  • Over 7-8Y Experience in retail merchandising or buying in luxury fashion

  • Excellent understanding of retail KPIs

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Detail-oriented and business-driven mindset

  • Fluent in English
