The Director of VM Strategy & Performance role focuses on translating enterprise visual strategy into actionable Visual Merchandising plans, leading cross-functional initiatives, rigorously monitoring performance, and ensuring visual investments align with business priorities to drive sales and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Work with Marketing department to execute comprehensive visual merchandising strategies aligned with overall business objectives, brand vision, and market trends.
- Work with AVP, Visual Merchandising in translating high-level strategy into detailed, actionable plans, roadmaps, and timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Marketing, VM, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
- Lead bi-weekly alignment meetings to ensure key investments in relevant products, campaigns, and initiatives are selected and prioritized based on strategy, performance data, and business needs.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
- Conduct in-depth analysis and ongoing monitoring of VM strategies and initiatives.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales lift, conversion rates, foot traffic impact, inventory turnover, and customer engagement metrics.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend data-driven adjustments to maximize ROI.
Product Stock Strategy & Optimization
- Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain to shape product stock strategies that support business priorities and client engagement.
- Ensure key products are positioned in the right locations to support VM storytelling, client trends & commercial & E-Commerce opportunities.
- Proactively assess product availability, boutique-level stock needs, and emerging business opportunities to inform agile marketing and visual merchandising strategies.
Pilot Programs & Testing
- Partner with AVP, VM in planning and evaluation for pilot programs, in-store tests, and new concept rollouts.
- Define success metrics upfront, analyze results, and scale winning initiatives while sunsetting underperforming ones.
Reporting & Executive Communication
- Prepare clear, insightful reports and presentations on VM initiatives, performance outcomes, and strategic recommendations.
- Present updates to AVP Visual Merchandising, highlighting insights, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in leading teams and leading leaders.
- Preferred a min of 5 years in Visual Merchandising or Marketing performance based role.
- Strategic Acumen & Proactivity: Demonstrated ability to proactively identify solutions, and manage complex situations with a strategic mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational & Process Excellence: Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking abilities, with a proven track record of developing and implementing productive ways of working to optimize workflow.
- Discretion & Professionalism: confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism, consistently upholding the highest ethical standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and other relevant communication tools.
Salary Range: $170,000-$190,000
