Responsible for managing import operations day-to-day, ensuring timely customs clearance, accurate documentation, and full compliance with import regulations and trade compliance requirements.
This role will focus on import processes while supporting overall logistics efficiency and risk control.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
1. Import Operations (Main Focus)
- Coordinate and manage inbound shipments (air, sea,) from origin to destination
- Liaise with freight forwarders, suppliers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth import process
- Monitor shipment status and ensure on-time customs clearance
- Review and verify import documentation (Invoice, Packing List, AWB/BL, Import Entry)
- Ensure accuracy of declared value, HS Code, and duty/tax calculation
2. Customs Clearance & Regulatory
- Handle and follow up customs clearance process with brokers and authorities
- Ensure all import activities comply with local customs regulations
- Manage import permits, licenses, and related documentation (if required)
- Resolve any customs issues, delays, or discrepancies
3. Trade Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., CITES, import control laws)
- Review and validate regulatory documents prior to shipment
- Monitor updates on import regulations and implement necessary changes
- Support audits and ensure proper documentation filing for compliance purposes
- Identify and mitigate risks related to import and regulatory requirements
4. Coordination & Internal Support
- Coordinate with internal teams (Finance, Commercial, Warehouse) for smooth operations
- Support stock receiving process and ensure alignment with system records
- Work closely with regional or origin teams on shipment arrangements
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in logistics operations with hands-on exposure to import operations and customs clearance processes
- Solid understanding of international shipping documentation, import regulations, and coordination with freight forwarders and customs brokers
- Highly detail-oriented with strong coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively
- Well-organized with strong prioritization skills; able to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, reliable, and solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel) with experience with SAP is an advantage
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
