MAIN PURPOSE

The Accessories Merchandising Assistant Manager, HK & Macau, drives category performance through four strategic pillars: (1) Assortment & Visibility, (2) Marketing & Launch Activation, (3) Novelties Management, Market Intelligence & Pricing, and (4) Stock Optimization & Performance Drive — acting as the strategic bridge between Region, Boutiques, and Commercial teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assortment and Visibility

  • Lead the implementation of regional merchandising guidelines across all local boutiques, ensuring brand integrity and consistency
  • Contribute to assortment width and boutique typology / clustering, ensuring differentiation aligned with each door's role, clientele, and sales potential (in collaboration with commercial for qualitative insights)
  • Translate the regional visibility strategy into a local visible assortment guideline by cluster, in close collaboration with VM (zoning, display, presentation)
  • Continuously review and optimize product assortment, display, and stock visibility by doors to maximize sales and customer experience
  • Conduct regular boutique visits to ensure merchandising standards are met and maintain a seamless flow of communication between boutiques and office teams

Marketing and Launch Activation

  • Cascade and prioritize the regional marketing calendar locally, by category and channel (retail, digital, CRM, events), aligning resources and focus with commercial priorities
  • Provide local visibility on the 360-activation plan (push, events, pop-ups, reveals) to Commercial, VM, and Sales Operations, ensuring a consistent cross-functional approach
  • Communicate launch strategy and priorities to the commercial team ahead of each wave (pre-launch needs: press samples, roadshow, training) and ensure timely, accurate execution of product launches, seasonal updates, and special events

Novelties Management, Market Intelligence and Pricing

  • Continuously monitor the Accessories market landscape – key players, competitive activities, emerging trends, and consumer behavior – and share regular qualitative insights with local management and Region
  • Provide local novelties inputs (qualitative forecast, client appetite signals, clienteling feedback) and monitor performance vs. expectations, sharing actionable insights with the North Asia Region
  • Conduct regular competitive benchmark on assortment, pricing, novelties, and visibility across key players
  • Contribute to local pricing positioning reviews and support new price implementation in coordination with the North Asia Region

Stock Optimization and Performance Drive

  • Partner with local retail and sales teams to drive sell-out initiatives and achieve targets, leveraging rigorous analysis of local sales data and customer feedback to identify performance drivers and corrective actions
  • Lead the local slow movers action plan, identifying corrective levers (zoning, push, training, clienteling, transfers)
  • Co-manage scarcity with the Region and commercial team: contribute to allocation logic, prioritization between doors, and client reservation principles
  • Together with the Region, propose product alternatives and stock allocation strategies during shortages to protect sell-out and client experience
  • Animate stock visibility and rotation processes with retail and supply chain, without owning operational inventory management

5. Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication:

  • Serve as the primary strategic liaison between the local market and regional marketing / merchandising, providing local insights and product priorities to Communication, Client, VM, and Commercial teams
  • Provide expert product knowledge and merchandising support to sales teams, developing or adapting training materials and sales tools to boost category performance
  • Actively participate in regional calls and meetings, representing the Hong Kong and Macau market perspective
